1950's Vacheron Constantin ref. 4695, Cornucopia, as collectors affectionately refer to it, is a wonderful example of this era. The oversized flared lugs amplify the case, giving it a larger than life feel. The watch is transformed from a tool into a biomorphic design. Pattern and ornamentation are replaced by bare surfaces and revealed structures. The watch is in good overall condition, with an original, silver guilloché dial which shows signs of aging. 18k yellow gold 24mm x 24mm square case, 40mm overall length including the lugs. Powered by a manual winding movement cal. 9''', 458/3B, 17 jewels in order working condition. Case, dial and movement signed. The new aesthetic of the mid 20th century is perfectly exemplified by the Cornucopia.
