1940's IWC rare and large, Portuguese white dial wristwatch in stainless steel, caliber 89. Reference: 325 Year: 1945, manual winding movement caliber 89, case measures 42mm. Signed: Dial, movement, and case The Portuguese design is elegantly simple yet remarkably distinctive. Originating from a request by a Portuguese dealer in the late 1930s, this model catered to the Portuguese market's desire for a men's watch boasting marine chronometer precision. Records indicate scarce sales of the ref. 325, with only around 300 pieces with caliber 89, same number with caliber 74, sold by IWC , making finding such a watch today a genuine challenge. The watch shows a preserved 42mm stainless steel case with a snap-on back, a large winding crown. The original silvered dial features sub-seconds at 6 o'clock, Arabic applied indexes, a small outer minute track and the distinct long signature of "International Watch & Co—Schaffhausen."
